With this blog, I will be analyzing the above graph from a recent On The Map Internet Marketing article. On The Map posts articles fairly often about topics such as Marketing and what the overall consumer market is presently looking like. The graph I picked out above captured my attention due to the consumer market constantly changing especially with newer technology becoming available to all.

From the graph, we see that a majority of consumers are choosing new brands due to Availability. Meaning that these brands are keeping their products stocked for consumers to try them out. I have personally experienced this many times, especially whenever I go to the grocery store. With this routine action that many people do weekly, you are bound to see a product you haven't tried at least once or twice each trip. So, if these brands are constantly keeping products on the shelves, you will see them on each of your trips to the grocery store which for many will eventually lead to a purchase.

In recent years, the decision to buy healthier and higher-quality products has been on the rise as newer technology is introduced. As the graph shows, consumers are still prioritizing the Value (cheaper and larger sizes) they get from their products as opposed to whether what they're buying is good quality or healthy. In my opinion, we will see this graph shift heavily in 2025. I believe that Quality and Purpose-Driven will both become larger factors in this decision to buy newer brands for consumers. Just as seeing a brand frequently in a grocery store can lead to a purchase, we will see this graph shift if brands can focus on not only the quality of their products but also the quality of treating their employees and guaranteeing a safe and non-biased work environment.
